Neurovascular/Stroke Faculty Position

The candidate will join a dynamic group of five stroke neurologists staffing a certified Comprehensive Stroke Center based at Buffalo General Medical Center. The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is recruiting for a full-time pediatric epileptologist to join a multi-disciplinary program in neurology, pediatrics, and neurosurgery.
Applicants are sought at the Associate Professor or Professor rank, with an academic appointment at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai that is commensurate with experience and resume. The selected candidate must have excellent clinical skills and an interest in outpatient and inpatient pediatric epilepsy care, as well as a track record of clinical research, with an anticipated distribution of about equal effort in clinical care and clinical research; leadership opportunities are also anticipated.
He or she will work with an outstanding team of pediatric neurologists with specialized interests in epilepsy, movement disorders, stroke, headache, neurobehavioral disorders, multiple sclerosis and autoimmune encephalitis, as well as general pediatric neurology, throughout the Mount Sinai Health System in Manhattan. Faculty teach adult neurology residents, pediatric residents, and medical students at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai during those trainees’ clinical rotations in pediatric neurology. In addition, the candidate would engage in advancing an active pediatric epilepsy surgical program, effectively partnering with adult epileptologists, pediatricians, and neurosurgeons in our large health system.
• Subspecialty fellowship training and certification in epilepsy or clinical neurophysiology (EEG track)
• Outstanding communication, bedside manner, and professionalism; excellent organizational skills
• A strong work ethic and capability for effective collaboration in the multi-disciplinary care of infants, children, and adolescents with seizure disorders, including evaluation and advanced surgical and medical management approaches for refractory epilepsy

Applicants are sought at any rank (Assistant, Associate, Professor) with an academic appointment at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai that is commensurate with experience and resume. The chosen candidate must have excellent clinical skills and an interest in outpatient and inpatient pediatric neurology.
Mount Sinai’s outstanding team of 10 pediatric neurologists have specialized interests in epilepsy, movement disorders, stroke, neurobehavioral disorders, multiple sclerosis and autoimmune encephalitis, as well as general pediatric neurology throughout the Mount Sinai Health System in Manhattan.
Pediatric neurology faculty teach adult neurology residents, pediatric residents, and medical students at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai during their clinical rotations in pediatric neurology. In addition, the Division is preparing an application to ACGME for a pediatric neurology fellowship training program.
