Seeking Pediatric Neurologists (Academic)

The Mount Sinai Health System has openings for full-time pediatric neurologists to join our nationally ranked Division of Pediatric Neurology. Applicants are sought at any rank (Assistant, Associate, Professor) with an academic appointment at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai that is commensurate with experience and resume. The chosen candidate must have excellent clinical skills and an interest in outpatient and inpatient pediatric neurology.

Job Description

Mount Sinai’s outstanding team of 10 pediatric neurologists have specialized interests in epilepsy, movement disorders, stroke, neurobehavioral disorders, multiple sclerosis and autoimmune encephalitis, as well as general pediatric neurology throughout the Mount Sinai Health System in Manhattan.

Pediatric neurology faculty teach adult neurology residents, pediatric residents, and medical students at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai during their clinical rotations in pediatric neurology. In addition, the Division is preparing an application to ACGME for a pediatric neurology fellowship training program.

Mount Sinai Kravis Children’s Hospital is a comprehensive tertiary children’s hospital. U.S. News and World Report consistently selects Mount Sinai Kravis Children’s Hospital as one of the best children’s hospitals in the nation. In the 2018-2019 annual edition of “Best Children’s Hospital” report, Kravis ranked in five pediatric specialties. It includes a pediatric epilepsy monitoring unit and an active pediatric epilepsy surgical program.

         Clinical Neurophysiology Fellowship –                 University at Buffalo

The Department of Neurology at the University at Buffalo, SUNY has an unexpected opening for the clinical neurophysiology fellowship starting July 2020. This fellowship will provide an extraordinary experience in adult and child epilepsy including a wide variety of EEG studies, epilepsy management, pre-surgical evaluation, invasive monitoring, and evoked potentials. We are a Level IV member of the NAEC Association with a state-of-the=-art 12 bed long term monitoring unit. The EMG training is an outstanding program with a diverse faculty of 3 neuromuscular attendings, including the department chairman. Fellows will have the opportunity to perform a wide variety of neuromuscular procedures including routine EMG, nerve conduction studies, repetitive stimulation, single fiber, as well as a botox clinic.

The clinical neurophysiology fellowship is a one year ACGME approved program for PGY V child or adult neurologist, and fulfills the requirements for taking the ABPN certification examination in clinical neurophysiology. Vascular Neurology Fellowship- Westchester Medical Center

Westchester Medical Center has an exceptional 1 year ACGME accredited Vascular Neurology fellowship position available starting July 2021! Just 30 miles north of NYC, we provide acute comprehensive stroke services to the Hudson Valley. Our fellowship affords extensive experience in clinical vascular neurology as well as clinical research training, with rotations on the in-patient stroke unit, stroke consultation service, neurosonology, Neuroendovascular, NCU & in-patient rehabilitation. An entire floor has been dedicated to neurology patients, which includes an 18-bed Neuro ICU, 8-bed Stroke Unit, 12 step down level beds, & neurology floor beds. Advanced imaging used to assess acute stroke patients include 24 hour availability of CT head, CT angiogram, Rapid Perfusion Imaging, MR imaging, & Endovascular Services. Clinical duties include but are not limited to daily teaching rounds with a Vascular Neurology, Neuroendovascular or Neurocritical care Faculty. Clinical education is further supplemented by organized cerebrovascular didactic lectures, weekly review of reperfusion cases & journal club.
